Has she got a nose for business! by Yvonne F. Conte
After a slight misunderstanding with an elderly gentleman over his withdrawal slip, Snyder asked him to complete a new one. Not a big deal right? For this fellow it was. He has difficulty writing and it took him a several minutes to complete the task, making him frustrated and angry. Snyder felt compassion for her customer and thought how can I make him happy? She reached into her drawer and put on her red sponge clown nose. When he lifted his head to hand her the slip and saw her nose he “just cracked up” as Snyder put it. “From that point on his feelings and emotions were completely different. He was happy and left in a good mood.” She went on to say, “ Now whenever he comes in he asks me where my nose is.” At this particular bank they really do know ‘the right relationship is everything’! And they’re not alone.
