Everyday I hear people talk about the poor economy, dismal job opportunities and dwindling savings. I know people who are sacrificing their precious Cafe Mocha Latte’s to save a few measly dollars a day. You’ll never find financial freedom by depriving yourself of four dollar items. You need to create wealth. Build new ways to generate income. What if I were to tell you money can be made this week using the skills and knowledge you already have. I know it can be done because I raised $1,386 in three days above and beyond my normal income & and you can too. Let me tell you how.

What do you know how to do? Can you write a business plan? Are you an expert at installing light fixtures? Do people tell you that your pies are the best? What is it that you do extremely well? All of us have talents, skills and knowledge that can make us extra income right now. I am an author. I’ve written and published six books. I put together a four hour workshop and within three days of blasting my social media contacts, and putting up five posters in the neighborhood I had 14 people signed up at $99. each. A local church was kind enough to let me hold my class there at no charge. With no investment I made myself an extra $1,386. helping other people learn about writing and publishing. It was a win-win. There are three ways to create extra income right now.

1. Create a workshop
Workshops generally have the participants involved in some way. There is a lot of interaction and hands on learning. This may take a bit of investment in materials but you can add that into your price for the class. Examples of workshop ideas: How to groom your dog, write a business plan, decorate cakes, make pottery.
2. Create a seminar
If you have something you are passionate about put together a 60-90 minute talk about your topic. Be sure you are offering your audience good solid information. Ask them to take action. Examples of a seminar: The benefits of eating healthy, Creating a Green environment, Social Media: It’s not the hard! or Parenting 101.
3. Offer lessons
If you aren’t ready to stand in front of an audience just yet, why not offer your talents one on one. Examples: Offer guitar/piano/voice lessons. Teach someone about social media. Help someone loose weight.

There are endless possibilities out there for creating income. It’s not just money that excites me, there is an added bonus to conducting these types of classes. If you own your own business this is a great way to establish yourself as an expert in your field. Becoming known for your speaking abilities and expert status is a good way to advance in any given career. So think about what you do well. Create a way to help others and watch the income rise.
